AnnouncementsMichael Robson, the author, who is writing the Turnbull Book, located us from our Highlander magazine ad. This is the gentlemen several of you have asked about, whom Mark and I could never locate. In the past, Dottie Berk was in regular contact with him, but turmoil in the late 90's left many things lost. Mr. Robson has a web site and has offered to help us buy data on Turnbull’s before 1700, from what he has collected over the years. If anyone wants his address let me know. Lord Lyon to attend the Highland Games at Stone Mountain in Georgia, on October 18-19, 2003. This will be the first time in history that a Lord Lyon will visit America. He was invited to attend the annual meeting of the Society of Scottish Armigers, of whom he is a patron. Armigers are persons, who can prove they descend from an ancestor who had arms and is of the same surname in a family lineage. The individual may petition Lord Lyon to matriculate that ancestor’s arms. The individual may then use the family arms for his/herself by flying their own personal flag bearing the arms, use it on letterheads and males can wear a single eagle feather in their bonnet, and any other traditional uses of the arms. To: The Membership of The Turnbull Clan Association, Inc. Regarding: The Forthcoming Elections of the Officers for the Term 2004 - 2006
It seems just a short time ago that the last Elections for the officers for the Term of 2000-2003 were held, for the last three years have gone quickly. In the April 2003 Issue of the Bullseye, (Volume 4 Issue 2) the Editor Janet T. Schwierking wrote of the elections and requested that if anyone wanted to run for office, or to nominate a candidate to please submit
the applications to her. To date the following members have been nominated and also have agreed to serve if elected. We want this election not only to be an open and fair process but for as many members as possible to participate both as candidates
and as voters. |
