November 2003 Volume 2  No. 6

New TCA Programs.

During the recent meeting in Washington DC, the TCA officers discussed many things important to the growth and welfare of TCA. One was a revision of the Bylaws,  the importance of the Scottish Games and how we might be able to help the tent hosts with their presentations. Other ideas were the following three items, Virtual Museum, Hall of Fame and the newsletter to Electric Scotland.

Virtual Museum  We can all do this!  How? Well, it is done by all of us. Everyone has something that is important in their own family. What are we looking for is a snap shot of your family keepsake. Something you would like to show off and share with everyone else. We will get Mark and Dana to take some pictures of what is in the Archives and Brian will make a page on the web site. Some of the pictures can be placed in the Bullseye or in Clan Prints, to be shared with those who do not have a computer.

Hall of Fame  Did one of your ancestors play a role in a war, do some incredible feat, make some kind of contribution, invent something, or was just your own favorite personal hero? Then let’s tell it to everyone in the Hall of Fame. Some time back, one of our own, Dale Hilding, was presented with “The Combined Federal Campaign’s Hero” award for public service. This award was created by John F. Kennedy. CFC is the only federal entity allowed to solicit charity donations. The award was presented to Dale by President George W. Bush in August 2001. Dale is a candidate for our Hall of Fame.

TCA Featured on Electric Scotland.

We have added to the World Wide Web, on Electric Scotland, our new Clan Newsletter called "Beyond Borders, Bulls, and Bedrule."  This is a general information newsletter about TCA. It is hoped that this will bring our information to more people, world wide, and will gain additional members, while adding TCA recognition by other Scottish Clan Societies.

Dues and Referrals Needed.

Please remember to send in your dues. Our membership presently is 195, who has a relative out there that might join and helps us go over 225 by the end of the year? We now have 6 Rule family members, anymore Rules out there ?  How about your local phone book, take a look, see if there is anyone you might call to see if they would be interested in joining TCA
