George & Johan migrated to Sydney in about 1856 and were there
for a short time before coming to Victoria. After visiting
other parts of the state they moved to Heathcote district of
Victoria where he managed Mount Camel Station for Robertson
Bros for some eight years. Prior to 1873 he took off with
Jessie Cameron, leaving his wife Johan with eight children.
George and Jessie had three children, however they never
married.
