Every year, the second weekend of October finds many laddies in kilts and lassies in tartan sashes at Forest Park-St. Louis, for the Scottish Games. This year the rain held off, but the presidential debates at Washington University interfered with traffic and parking, making the Friday Calling of the Clans smaller than usual. However, Saturday was full of athletics, band and pipe competition and Clan Tent hospitality!
The Clan Tent –Keith and Thérèse manning the tent. The other Turnbulls in attendance were oot and aboot, taking in the sights.
Keith, with the "highlin coo", Heather, shows there are no more hard feelings between the Turn-e-Bulls and "panting monster" of 700 years ago! We make sure to stop and see Heather each year and we have gotten to know Keith, the Highland Cow breeder/handler of Ava, Missouri, quite well! The games are growing each year, as this was year #4 for
the festival, and word is getting out what a fun-filled weekend the St. Louis Scottish contingent offers! Year #5 Forward!!
