SKETCH: "Cloid" Trumbull (26, OH) was listed in the 1910 federal census, Toledo, Oh with wife, Mable (23,OH), and chldren Emmett (6,OH) and Alice (4,OH). In the 1920 census, same location, Claud Trumbull (35,OH) resided on Defiance St., Milton Center, OH, with wife Mabel E. (32,OH) and children, Emmet C. (15,OH), Kenneth M (9,OH), Alice G. (14,OH), and Evelin G. (3,OH).

According to Wilma Collier, Claude's daughter, her father suffered from depression. She relays this through things her older brother, Kenneth (Spiv) remembered (that his father had told him and he then repeated to her). Their grandfather, James N. Trumbul, had the habit of verbally abusing family members, especially while drinking. Claud E. was a particularly sensitive individual and suffered a great deal. 

It seems that the only memories Claud Emmet had of his father were negative. Due to bouts of depression and scarred childhood, Claud took his own life.
