The announcement of the death of James Trumble, Monday morning May 31 after being for some time in a very week and critical condition brought sorrow to a large circle of friends and the sad occurrence was deeply regretted by all our neighbors, by whom he was universally respected. The immediate cause of Mr Trumbles death was bronchial catarrh from which he suffered for some time. The deceased was born Oct 7 1837 in Jefferson County town of Lyme NY and was therefore about 59 yrs and eight months of age at the time of his death. He was married in 1862 to Miss Mary Reese, who survives him, besides whom he leaves two sons Eugene and John and two daughters Emma and Lula. He became connected with the Methodist Church at an early  period in life and remained throughout a consistent member, always taking great interest in any matter pertaing to the church. The funeral services were held at the China Methodist Church at 12 o/clock on Wednesday June 2nd Rev Tripp Assisted by Rev McCarthy of Adair, officiating The remains attended by a large number of friends and acquaintances were conveyed to the last resting place in  the St Clair Cemetery.
