LOUISE IRENE (TRUMBULL) SPEAKER, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully joined our Heavenly Father on the wings of angels Saturday, July 21, 2001, surrounded by family, at the age of 79. Louise was born March 8, 1922 in Milton Center, OH to Claud and Mable Brown Trumbull. She married her loving husband, Cloyce L. (Bud) Speaker on May 3, 1941 after which she moved to Bay City, MI where she resided for most of her life. Louise had a zest for life, and was admiringly strong up until the end. She is a true role model and inspiration to all those lucky and blessed enough to know her or have had their lives touched by her. Louise was always a very hardworking, caring, compassionate and religious person who unselfishly gave of herself to others in countless ways. She was a Red Cross volunteer and Sunday school teacher for a number of years. Above all else, Louise was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who treasured her family and all of the precious times they shared. Louise endeared family gatherings with her loved ones, especially at Christmas time. In family, she found no greater joy or comfort. Although in failing health, she was patient and kind, with first thought of family in her mind. Prior to her illness, Louise enjoyed traveling, writing poetry, china painting and cruel embroidery. She found many hours of peace and solace in gardening, enjoying the summer breeze on the patio and watching many a sunset in remembrance of her beloved husband, Bud. Louise will be sadly missed, but always remembered fondly as she sends messages to her family from among the clouds. Louise is survived by three children: Sharyon Louise (Speaker) McKendry and her husband, Lennon Harold of Zionsville, IN, David Cloyce Speaker and wife, Vicki of Negaunee, MI and Kimberly Lou (Speaker) Sharp and her husband, John J. of Bay City; 14 grandchildren: Steven, John, Scott, Sherry, Kristine, Jason, Jennifer, Jonathan, Laura, Joshua, Sara, Stephanie, Shauna and David; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Collier of Pemberville, OH and several nieces and nephews. Those who predeceased Louise were her parents, Claud and Mable Trumbull, two brothers and two sisters, her husband, Cloyce L. (Bud) Speaker, who passed away on May 28, 1979, and her beautiful daughter, Sue Ellen (Speaker) McKendry, who died in September of 1977, age 35. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Rivertown Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Life Missionary Church, Bay City. Pastor Jonathan Boyer will officiate. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the New Life Missionary Church, Alzheimer's Foundation or the Red Cross of America.
