James R Turnbull
James R. (Jim) Turnbull, 68, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho on Monday, July 17, 2000.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 22nd, in Coffelt’s Moon Chapel.Interment will follow in Westmond Cemetery.Elder Robert Hovanski, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will officiate.
Friends may call, to pay respects, at the funeral home on Friday from noon until 5 p.m.
Jim was born on the farm in Sagle, Idaho, on Feb., 21, 1932, the son of Oscar and Angie (Lemon) Turnbull.He had lived all his life on the land that his grandfather Cyrus homesteaded 115 years ago.
Jim graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1950.On June 9, 1951, Jim married Dolores Nolen in Sandpoint.Together they had three loving children and spent many wonderful years.
Jim worked in the woods and also operated heavy equipment fo rthe Local No. 370 Operating Engineers out of Spokane, Wash.He worked around the area in many different places.As long as his health was good he enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting and fishing.He was a lifetime member of the NRA.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Turnbull; brother, Robert Turnbull; two sons, Matthew and Jed (Marilyn) Turnbull; daughter Crystal (Bill) Gordon; seven grandchildren, Chad, Jeremy, Heather, Craig, Travis and Twilla Turnbull and Tyler Gordon; and great grandson Michael Allen Goyen-Turnbull.All reside in the Sagle/Sandpoint area with the exception of Chad who is atationed at Fort Bragg, NC.Jeremy who is stationed in Kunia, Hawaii, and Craig who lives in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
