Louella A. Dowdy died Saturday, January 17, 2004 in Kingfisher, OK. She was 86 at the time of her death.
Born August 2, 1917 in Wellington to the late Rosa V. and John W. Trimble Sr., she received her education in Wellington, graduating with the class of 1935.
She was employed by McLellans in Lawton, OK and in 1957 moved to Elk City, OK as store manager. Following the closing of the McLellans store, she was employed by Montgomery Ward and Dr. Pepper Bottling Company in Elk City. She retired in 1982 and moved to Edmond, OK. She was a long time member of the Church of Nazarene serving on the board of the church in Elk City for 27 years. She was church treasurer for eight years.
She married Albert Jack Dowdy September 17, 1961. He preceded her in death December 13, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include a son, Jack L. Dowdy and wife, Barbara of Edmond, OK; two daughters, Emma Ruth Jessing and husband, Dick of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Carolyn Sue Musick and husband, Jack, of Kingfisher, OK; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Ophelia Bergvall of Wellington and two brothers, John Trimble of McAllen and Robert J. Trimble of Dallas.
