In memory of John Allen of Kirkby Lonsdale, born 29th December . 1790, died 8th January 1872, also of Jane Carr, his wife, born 25th December . 1790, died 14th February . 1837, also of Elizabeth Carr, her mother, born 31st October 1766, d. 12th February , 1841, widow of James Carr, of Green Close, also of Oswald Allen son of the above who fell asleep in Jesus Octbr. 2nd 1878 aged 62. Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord, yea saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours, and their works do follow them.
