My correspondent, Tina Williams Swyers, wrote me that Mary (Mollie) Ellen Turnbull Oaks was her great grandmother, through Mary's daughter, Elsie Gracie Oaks. Barbara Rice wrote me that Mary E. Turnball, age 4, was listed in her parent's 1860 household of George W. & Anna Turnball (sic), a listing that I verified. Mary E. Turnbull, age 14 b. KY, is again listed ith them in 1870.
My correspondent, James Edward Turnbull, found a record of the burial of Mary Emerine (Turnbull) Oaks in Buff Cem. in Howell Co., MO, which referenced her death certificate which I found on the Missouri Archives web Site. The death certificate informant, Orpha Robertson of West Plains, MO, has her parents as Jas. (apparently mistaken) Turnbull & Anna Shadowens (sic), of unknown nativity. Orpha may have been associated with the Funeral Director, Robertson's Mortuary, which handled Mary's burial as well as her husband's.
