Kate went out to India with her husband only remaining with him for 6 years before returning to England alone. Presumably something happened in India to make her return and her only claim was that of a widow's pension^2,3
Death	He died on 21 February 1911 at age 67 in Kashmir. Who died from wounds received in an encounter with a leopard¹
Burial	He was buried in Kashmir. Inscription reads: In Loving Memory Colonel Sydney Drummond Turnbull 1st Bengal Lancers Retired Who died in Kashmir 21 Feb 1911 aged 66 From wounds received in an encounter with a leopard.

According to records I have gleaned Colonel Sydney Drummond Turnbull married my great grandmother Kate Burton on 16th November 1874 at St Luke’s Parish Church, Chelsea.
