   According to records I have gleaned Colonel Sydney Drummond Turnbull married my great grandmother Kate Burton on 16th November 1874 at St Luke’s Parish Church, Chelsea. He serving with the 15th Bengal Cavalry and they were both living at 23 Margaretta Terrace, Chelsea. As I understand there were no children by this marriage and Kate went out to India with her husband only remaining with him for 6 years before returning to England alone.  Presumably something happened in India to make her return and her only claim was that of a widow's pension.
