This could be a very important point, as one possibility for the birth of Betty Elliot, wife of James Turnbull is dtr of Thomas ELLIOT and Betty CARRUTHERS, born at Ewes, Dumfries 8 December 1782. Hereinafter cited as "E-Mail - Malcolm Hutton."
