A third daughter, Margaret Mary was born June 5, 1903 in Sydney, Cape Breton at the home of her aunt, Alice Cameron. John Aitken was born February 16, 1907 in Canon City, Colorado where the family had moved from Halifax. James was involved in real estate and the fruit business there for a number of years. The family moved to Roswell, New Mexico in 1912 and then to Houston, Texas in 1915 and finally to Los Angeles, California in 1923.1 |
